Magazines:

this is the first page of one of 'pick me up's' magazines. This page tells you about everything you can find in the magazine, it gives you page topics and page numbers so you can find what you want to read fast.

The target audience for this magazine is women around 16-50. Women who are interested in gossip and real life stories. The colures pink, yellow, baby blue and white tells us it’s a women’s magazine because they are girl’s colures.

You can also tell a target audience by the pictures which are printed. For example on this page there are pictures of cute dogs, heels and handbags and skinny women in dressers who look beautiful. Women relate to this pictures and topics that’s what makes them buy the magazine because they like them topics.

This page has a column on the left hand side which tells us about what we can find inside. There are topic headings which are in bold, pink text and then the blue text is the different topics about the main topic which it’s under. Then next to them are page numbers so that if you want to read about that subject you can flick straight to that page.

Notice how at the top of the page it says 'this week in your pick me up' this is so that the reader knows what this page is about. At the top of every page there is usually a page heading, so you know what that page is about and it saves time reading it all to find out.
